Toronto Mission Trip
6/1/2024 — 6/7/2024

Toronto is Canada’s largest city and a world leader in business, finance, technology, entertainment, and culture. Its large population of immigrants from all over the globe has also made Toronto one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

The city of Hamilton, where the Send Relief Ministry Centre is located, is unique for its distinctive urban feel and vibrant arts and culture. Ideally located in the heart of the country’s most popular travel destinations, Hamilton lies halfway between Toronto and Niagara Falls, less than an hour from each.

Hamilton is not without its challenges. The city faces severe housing affordability and food insecurity issues, and 1 in 4 children lives under the poverty line. There are over 200 different languages spoken within the city limits, and it is not uncommon for 30-40 different languages to be spoken at local public schools. In Hamilton, Arabic is now the most common language spoken at home after English.

What will you do?

Your mission experience will include working alongside our Send Relief Ministry Centre and church planters in the city and surrounding area. As our new ministry centre is just getting started to serve displaced people, newcomers, and the underserved in the city, there will be opportunities to help meet physical and spiritual needs. This work will include opportunities to assist with compassion ministry projects and outreach opportunities where church plants are being established.
